Payplay's home page is very well structured, with enough information to be helpful but not too busy and confusing. It is updated regularly with New Albums, Charts, coming soon and loads more. Our verdict: A fresh, clear site that makes buying mp3s painless. They may not be the cheapest, but their music library is huge, album discounts are good and their low top-up amount makes music available to a lot more people.

Signing Up

To purchase music from Payplay.fm, you will need to create an account. It's free to do and takes a few seconds. Just type in your email address and a password and you're good to go. You can top up your account and download music right away. Before you top up your account, Payplay give you 50¢ free, so you can try the service out. To claim free credit, you just need to verify your email address.

Payment Options and Offers

Adding money to your account is quick, easy and secure. You can pay using Visa. The minimum top up to your account is $15.00. This minimum amount applies each time you add money to your account. However, if you top up more than the minimum, you can get some good offers:

Top up $30 and get $10 for free, top up $50 and get $30 for free or top up $100 and get $100 for free.

Prices

At 20¢ per song, track prices are not the cheapest on Payplay, however, their album discount is higher than the other sites, at 30, so you can get a good deal if you want a whole album.

Music Selection

Payplay have got a massive library of music, with over 5,407,319 songs available to download. You can preview songs before you download them, to check if it's the right song. Bear in mind though, previews and low quality. The actual download of the song or album will be much higher. Bitrate for songs on Payplay varies from 192-320kbps, which is very good. Search Facility

Payplay's search facility is predictive, which is a very helpful feature, especially if you're unsure of spellings! Results are displayed clearly with artist, releases then tracks so you should be able to find what you want here. There is lots of album art which makes the site easier to use.

File formats & Bitrates
